About Eridius
What's the point?
Founder of Eridius, William Kenzie, kickstarted the Eridius Think-Tank out of frustration for current technological pitfalls; including bloated software, undesired cash-grab features, and extremely high resource consumption matching an extremely high price-tag.
At Eridius, we believe there is no excuse to sell user data to advertising agencies or to data-farm consumers. As a result, our software follows a high standard for privacy. We believe users want simple software for simple tasks, so we aim to make our software simple and lightweight, while still providing the powerful features you know and love.
How is Eridius different?
Eridius has the core beliefs of privacy, security, and freedom embedded in all of it's software. We take accountability for all of our produced code by making the code publicly viewable by anyone - so if we ever collect any of your data, it'll be subject to public scrutiny, as it should be. If you don't trust our software, you can analyze the code yourself - and even produce the downloads we offer yourself, as long as you don't sell our software or any derivatives of our software. Simple, permissive, and free.
Why should I care about privacy?
It's a common saying: "If I have nothing to hide, why should I care?" - and we think an analogy is the best response to this. If the police storm your house every weekend, with a warrant, would you be annoyed that they are wasting your time and constantly evading your personal space?
This is what big-tech companies do with your private data - they collect as much as they can and store it, giving it to law enforcement regularly, and sell it for the purposes of advertising - forcing you to see advertisements that may or may not be relevant to you.
